Krasnodar Region ranks among the top three regions in Russia in terms of tourist appeal

According to the results of the study «Index of Tourist Attractiveness of Russian Regions», Krasnodar Region ranked third in 2025.

The ranking was compiled by the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia.

«The Krasnodar Region is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Russian Federation. Its success is due, in part, to a unique combination of factors, including its excellent climate, proximity to two seas, balneological resources, and diverse natural landscapes. Since the beginning of this year, the region has welcomed more than 17.4 million tourists. The number of day visitors reached 7.7 million people,» said Elena Logunova, Deputy Minister of Resorts, Tourism, and Olympic Heritage of the Krasnodar Region.

The results of the ranking were announced at a press conference in Moscow with the participation of regional authorities. Moscow tops the list, followed by St. Petersburg in second place, and the Krasnodar Region in third.

Dozens of new hotels open in the Krasnodar Region every year. In 2025, 39 hotels with a capacity of 3,800 beds began operating. The Krasnodar Region is home to almost one-sixth of all hotel rooms in Russia. Four and five star facilities are typically in high demand among holidaymakers. There are already more than 330 such facilities in the region.
